Makrolab 106FM
temporary autonomous radio station

On Thursday 18 July, r a d i o q u a l i a built a 50 milliwatt transmitter, and launched Makrolab's first FM radio station transmitting from Blair
Atholl Estate in Scotland. The construction process is documented here
On Monday 22 July, construction began on a new FM transmitter, this time able to transmit at 1 watt. This transmitter is now designated Makrolab 106FM and is the unofficial FM station of the sixth and final crew of the Makrolab research station.

After the first transmission, MakrolabFM rebroadcasted a radio programme from
Resonance 104.4FM in London.
We received their signal via their net.radio broadcast, connected the
net.radio signal into our FM transmitter, and received the audio via our
FM receiver, and recorded the output via the r a d i o q u a l i a powerbook.
The rebroadcasted programme was about the Autonomous Astronauts Association, and featured an interview with makrolab crew member, Ewen Chardronnet. Listen to the interview with Ewen below.
