Rosy Parlane
Rosy Parlane is a musician from New Zealand, based in London.
Rosy Parlane first started playing music in Auckland, NZ, in 1993, as drummer and pianist for the improvised rock trio Thela alongside Dion Workman and Dean Roberts. They released two albums eponymous and Argentina on the label Ecstatic Peace!. In 1998 he formed the electronic duo Parmentier with fellow Thela member Dion Workman and quickly released the double 8" vinyl recording Odessa on Aucklandís Crawlspace Records. In March of that year they relocated to Melbourne, Australia and established their own record label Sigma Editions, initially as a way of releasing their own music but soon releasing other Australian and International sound artists as well. His full and intricate soundscapes are comprised of of sample-loops, pianos, guitars, and turntables manipulated via digital means. Parlane has released a solo album on Sigma Editions and a collaborative album with Fennesz on Synaesthesia.
