for this version a new web interface has been
developed (with the assistance of artmiks)
utilising the metaphor of the radio dial. visitors use the on-screen radio
dial to select a net.radio station, which is then played back into the gallery
space, via mini-fm transmitters. moving through the gallery's radiospace,
audiences can tune into different net.radio stations from london.
the installation will be installed on 4 pentium PCs distributed throughout
the gallery. 4 transmitter-receiver modules transmitting locally on high-frequency
radio will be utlised. extra receiving headsets will be available.

featured net.radio stations in frequency clock [ sNr v.0.1 ] are:
- radiospace

+ deskspace collectives. since 98 it has

reports from anti-globalisation protests to breakbeat rhythms + turntable
jams. radiospace is where the sonic fragments of london's cityscape lodge
on their path to obscurity or omnipresence.
- fallout

by product of london's Mute magazine,
fallout is an investigation of space, new science, technology + the human-machine
interface.

- r a d i o q u a l i a
rQ skews the listening spectrum by moving the listener from the vaporising
media of broadcast radio to the wired laboratory maze of net.radio + back
again. the frequency oscillates between the transmitter+antenna to the console+copper
wire. rQ makes audible complex electronica of all gelatinous forms + audiophonic
textures which ask the listener to listen harder, strain to catch the gaps,
the silences, the bits in between ...
